Once we reach critical mass we'll be meeting at various locations around town (like coffeehouses, restaurants, and maybe even conference facilities depending on how large it gets). Think of it like a regular Con that happens all the time! :)
This isn't intended as a poker, wargaming, CCG, or RPG group, as several of those exist already. This is more for traditional card and board games (like the list above) and more social/recreational gatherings.

PORTLAND GAME CLUB
We will be meeting almost every day this summer to get together and play games of all kinds. Come join us for free and at any time.
This Saturday I will be running a MTG Saviors of Kamigawa Tournament, which will also be the pre-beginning to a League. Prizes for both winners and losers.
Sunday I will run a Warlords Tournament for pretty cheap.
Tuesday there will also be a Pirates (cardboard miniatures) demonstration, followed by a tournament.
Then Wednesday begins a Mirrodin Block League where you get a Starter and 2 Boosters of your choice, plus then we draft a pack each, and at the end there are prizes for winners and losers.
Thursdays there is always D&D.
Other regular role playing games, board games, and miniatures evenings will also start.
And of course there is also RPGA.
In the future will be Board Game and Miniatures Tournaments.

I try to blend players' imagination with my own for the game. I don't have plot lines that can't be changed. The world is rich and detailed. It can stand on its own. Chris Pramas designed the new version, he's one of my favorite games designers. He's ex WotC, founded Green Ronin, and is a very busy man.
The campaign is called "Echoes of the Storm" as it occurs just after the invasion of the Empire by the forces of Chaos known as the "Storm of Chaos." The nation is battered, the north in ruins, the manpower depleted, the treasury empty, and Chaos cultists have infultrated everywhere. Gritty, in the mud, role playing, with dark humor and a good time had by all.

Heroes Needed!
A new superhero RPG group is forming soon in the Portland area. We are using the Marvel Superheroes RPG (original) for the rules but the game itself is not set in the marvel universe. A point-based character generation system, similar to Champions, will be used to purchase skills and powers.
Currently the plan is to play on either Saturday or Sunday afternoons, depending on what works for the majority of the players. As for the campaign setting, it takes place in the modern day world and superheroes are a very new addition to it. The story begins 3 years after the first public display of superpowers.

Looking to run D&D3E and Mutants and Masterminds 2E--see below...
I've been running gaming groups for over 20 years--starting a Marvel RPG boxed game I picked up overseas.
I'm an art teacher from PA and I thought about writing and illustrating comic books many moons ago. Nothing stokes the creative fires, out-of-the-box thinking, fun and comrade like RPGs. They are a facet of my life but not my whole life.
Games Owned
Besides RPGs, I love board games. On days the entire group can't meet we can hook-up and play Monopoly, Sorry, Scrabble, Clue, Risk, or Uno. Or more action-oriented games like X-Men. Heroes Quest, Dark Tower, or Dracula (Games Workshop).
Got Axis and Allies or some other engrossing game..?

House rules are logical and reasonable. For D&D, many are from 1st and 2nd Editions that add flavor, fill in holes, and make expedite game play. For any system, copies of any house rules are available for players.
I'm looking to put together a group to play Mutants and Masterminds (a Marvel-campaign setting) and D&D 3E ( Forgotten Realms). I love well-developed stories and over good role-playing--character development, personality points actuated, etc. I appreciate voices, accents, thought balloons. Players that can ignore off-table knowledge and/or integrate it well are a boon.
Role-playing games not video or board games--players interacted and as many stories are born as campaigns settled.
Table squabbles are a nuisances, the GM/DM should be the final word; any issue that can't be resolved in a few minutes should be respectfully shelved until later. You-snooze-you-lose is often in effect--nothing worse than a player who won't pay attention because their PC isn't in the spotlight.
I run in depth campaigns chocked full of adventures that require brains, brawn, teamwork, and role-playing.
I do like to punctuate arcs with one-shot action campaigns or stories in a lighter vein.
I'm looking for 4-5 mature adults that would like to meet twice a month (Sat or Sun) or as everyone’s schedule permits. Also, if you can't make a session be respectful and call the group and let them know.

So there's like 5,000,000 of these things with no date so I'm terrified to contact anyone. So here's the deal--I'm looking to play. What that might be doesn't matter, as I'm suffering from massive RPG withdrawals after a multi-year hiatus, ideally bi-weekly or monthly, but we can discuss. I could do 3.5 D&D for sure, but say the word "Shadowrun" or especially "Deadlands" and I'll love you forever. Not a huge fan of World of Darkness, but I'm willing to play. I'd prefer a relaxed approach, no rule-mongering. I'd probably stay a player at first, but get me into the swing of things and I'd be happy to run some modules. If every campaign ends up with players slitting each other's throats, leave me out of it.

I am a game master of some 25+ years of experience. I am currently starting up a live game in the Hillsboro, Oregon area. We will be using the GURPS role-playing system in a low-fantasy setting. Previous experience with the rule system is not required. Actually, no experience is a plus!
The campaign will take place in a dangerous world built on the ruins of a fallen empire. Multiple city-states are fighting for control over the countryside while dark powers waiting in the ashes of old kingdoms gather their strength to rise once again.
I am looking for mature players somewhere between "just out of college" and "one foot in the grave". The game time will be Sunday evenings from 5pm-10pm every other week and sometimes each week.
My games put an emphasis on story first and foremost. Story and rich characters are key. Oh...well, don't forget fun. That's first. There will be plenty of exploration, politics and action, but the play's the thing.
Again, I am looking for mature players able to commit to the game time. Players who emphasize a detailed character description and background are the type of folks I want to game with. Honesty and a fun attitude should be a given.
Rules lawyers and competitive people need not apply. I am after sociable folk, who play well with others, who care more about the story and the part they play than min/maxing some combat rolls.

I'm looking for an RPG group in need of new players. I haven't actually played any RPGs (i.e. D&D, Gurps, Shadowrun, etc.) but I'm willing to learn if some folks will show me the ropes. I'll try just about any pen and paper RPG such as Dungeons and Dragons, etc. I'm also open to strategy games like Magic the Gathering, Mage Knight, etc. I just want to have a good time and make some cool new friends.
I'm a normal guy, no drugs or anything like that.

When we meet:

At the moment, I can meet pretty much anytime and anywhere within about a half hour/45 minute drive of Gladstone/Milwaukie. I can do afternoons, evenings, and late nights. Both weekdays and weekends. I can come once a week or more often.

My brother and I are wanting to get a regular group going playing Vampire the Requiem, Or Changeling the Lost. This will be a very fun group and we are very excited to get started gameing again.

We would be able to host a Vampire the Requiem game at our place once a month. With two or maybe three other people to join our group.
House Rules:
1. Be respectful to our neighbors and pets (we have a Scottish Terrier named Whiskers, Two cats named Isis and Miles. As well as a shy corn snake named Ryu.)
2.Bring your own snacks or contribute money towards pizza.
3.Have hours of gameing fun!
4. Smoking outside on our deck or on the patio.

Well I'm 17 and I've played DND a few times, but I'm interested in getting a new game started with some of my friends that have never played before. I've never been a DM so I wanted to hopefully get someone that is more experienced to do it. I'm also looking to meet new people and connect over my pasionate love of DND. I'm willing to play any version, but I have only played 4.
I'd also be up for playing other games such as Puerto Rico or Arkham Horror, or pretty much anything.

My husband & I are gamers and would like to join a group if possible. The games we're most familar with are: Dungeons & Dragons (all except the 4th edition), Monte Cook's Arcana (both Unearthed & Advanced), Toon, Horror Rules, and Star Wars (West End Games D6 version). We have played other RPGs, but the ones mentioned are our favorites. I hope someone will let us join. We can also start a
group if there are enough players.
In most of the RPGs we play, I play the healer & my husband usually plays what
he calls the "chaotic neutral" character (mostly theives, con artists, psychotic
warriors, or blades/spellcasters/clerics(some may be necromancers)/theives for
hire). If he is GM for Horror Rules, you'll learn about his twisted sense of
humor. If he is the GM for Arcana, he tries to fit all the PCs strengths and
weaknesses into the campaign.

We're starting a game on Friday/Saturday evenings and are looking for a few more players. It's a modern paranormal setting somewhat similar to Call of Cthulhu/Delta Green and World of Darkness. This will be a high-powered campaign; characters start with no special abilities but have the potential to become extremely powerful -- if they survive. (It's also highly lethal.) Because it's mission-based, it's not a problem if you aren't able to come to every session. As an added benefit, this style of Game is played around the country, & you may carry over your character "as is".
Players have the opportunity to GM from time to time, so this could be a good situation for someone who just wants to GM occasionally or who is just getting started as a GM.
Players do not need to have experience or own any books. Both new and veteran players are welcome.
